1.Do you like to watch films?
Yes. Probably for the same reason I like to read or watch TV: to experience others’ lives, adventures and emotions vicariously without having to experience those things in reality, such as something painful like a tragedy or a horror, or because it's not plausible in your own life, like fantasy/adventure movies.
2.Do you like to watch foreign films?
Yes. I have to pay more attention to the subtitles from the beginning to the end, but I'd rather have subtitles than dubbing over. I don’t even notice I’m reading after a while if it’s a good movie, like “Cyrano de Bergerac”, it’s lovely.
3.Do you prefer to watch films in a cinema or at home? (Why?)
At home, there are less people with their mobile phones on, less people spoiling it by speaking aloud. I can rewind the movie as much as I want and I can go to the bathroom all I want without stepping on any toes.
4.What kind of films do you like to watch? (Why?)
I like all types of horrors from Hollywood to Bollywood! The more blood and guts the better! My favorite horror movie is “Saw” and every time I watch it I feel kind of weird and spooked afterwards, but I'll watch it again anyway.
5.Is there any kind of film that you don't like to watch? (Why?)
Horror films creep me out. I watched “The Shining” when I was a little kid and it scared the hell out of me and I have not been able to watch horror since. I can do thrillers, just not horror.
Describe a foreign movie that you saw.
You should say:
What was it about?
What did you like about it?
Why did you remember that movie?
范文:
I watched a foreign movie a long time ago. It was a strange kind of movie but I only watched it to practice my Spanish. I can hardly remember all of the story, but it was about a man and a woman, and the woman was working as a maid in a large family house, somehow her boyfriend ended up hiding in the attic of the house and he stayed there for a long time, and the woman left, she stopped working at the house, and the family moved away and the man continued living in the attic.
it was really kind of a weird movie, but I remember that at the end of it the man and woman got back together again, they found each other many years later after the main part of the movie, and I think they were still in love with each other.
Really, I didn’t like it that much, but it was one of those movies that can lure you to see what happens next. I almost gave it up on a couple of occasions because it seemed boring, but then some twists would happen and I decided to go on with it.
The reason I remember it is because it was so slow and uninteresting most of the time, but I ended up watching it all eventually.
Describe a movie you would like to watch again:
You should say:
What it was about
When and where you watched it
Who you watched it with
and explain why you would like to watch it again
范文:
As my favorite epic science fiction film, Interstellar is definitely the one that I would like to watch again.
And it was last year, like in October, everybody around me was talking about Interstellar which was no doubt the box-office smash and the hottest topic at the moment. After hearing so much about it, I decided to go to the cinema to appreciate it with the company of my boyfriend who happened to be a major scientific enthusiast, and to my knowledge he had looked forward to it for a long time.
The film is truly amazing both on plot and special effect. The whole story features a crew of astronauts and scientists who travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity. During this risky trip, we witness both the beauty and cruelty of the universe, the bright & dark side of human beings. But it’s actually love that really touches every audience.
I have to confess that I am really not a fan of science fictions, but Interstellar definitely changes my mind. It takes use of a artistic and accessible way to help audience like me to get beneath the skin of certain scientific concept, but at the same time, we could still get its overriding message about the powerful forces of the one thing we all know but can’t measure in scientific terms. LOVE. For a masterpiece like that, who do not wanna watch & get amazed again.
And I’d like to appreciate this scientific saga again also because, in the film, there are still certain cliffhangers and plots that really confused me, especially the finale. Now I’m still not sure whether those scientists and astronauts find the livable planet for human-beings or they just re-built a home for humans on a space station, and why Cooper is still alive after getting absorbed by the black whole? With all my questions and uncertainness, I do would to find out the answer by watching it again.
Describe the type of film you most enjoy watching.
You should say:
what this type is ①
what the characteristics of this type are ②
when you last watched this type ③
and explain why you like this type. ④
① Among all types of films, I like war films best.
② The first obvious feature of war films is that it involves at least one hero in the story, who is often brave, smart and unselfish. In addition, the battle scenes which involve large number of soldiers, planes and weapons vividly present a picture of what wars were actually like.
③ Recently, I watched a war film named Assembly directed by the famous Chinese director Feng Xiaogang. It was a drama about a soldier of a People's Liberation Army unit during the civil war in the 1940s. The soldier, once a company commander, devotes his life to redeeming the honor of fellow soldiers who are declared missing in action. The film has been called the Chinese version of “Saving Private Ryan”, and indeed, the film looks like seriously brutal stuff.
④ I like war films first because I can learn more about history through watching this kind of film. And I am especially interested in historic wars and battles, like the battle of Somme and so on. War films present to us a vivid picture of how brutal a war can be. Besides, I can appreciate the bravery and unselfishness of those heros in war films, like the captain in the Hollywood hit Saving Private Ryan.
