澳大利亞最好的大學是澳大利亞國立大學和悉尼大學。

Uq 1999年澳洲Top Graduate Starting Salary Universities: UTS, UOW, ANU, MQ 以上就是澳洲大學的總體評價，值得注意的是澳洲1999年8月人口才達到1900萬，而大學就有38所，其中私立2所。 大學人數(shù)超過2萬的就有17所，留學生人數(shù)超過2000的有20所，可見其教育事業(yè)的發(fā)達，絕對不可以用十年前的數(shù)據(jù)或者印象來小看澳洲大學。值得中國學生去留學的在我看來只有悉尼、布里斯班、佩斯三個城市的10所大學。以下就是本人的一些看法，由于我是計算機專業(yè)的研究生，澳洲現(xiàn)在又急需IT人才，故重點介紹計算機專業(yè)的情況。 二：按州點評各大學強項： ①New South Wales 州。位于澳洲東部，面積80萬平方公里，人口650萬。SYD 人口400萬，Newcastle 50萬，Wollongong 30萬。失業(yè)率 5.8%。該州有名的大學有6所：Unsw/Usyd/Mq/Uts 在SYD, Anu 在Canberra, Uow 在Wollongong. 悉尼人口400多萬，是澳洲最大的城市，也是全國的經(jīng)濟、文化中心，交通發(fā)達，全年氣候宜人，擁有世界上最大的天然良港，年平均日照時間6.7小時，全年溫度8-30度，平均氣溫：春天17度，夏天22度，秋天18度，冬天13度。悉尼還曾被評為世界最佳商業(yè)/旅游/會議城市，2000年奧運會被稱為最成功的奧運會。悉尼機場每周有50家國際航空公司的500個國際航班來往與世界100多個城市。 1999年悉尼市的失業(yè)率為4.3%. 悉尼房價高昂，費用約為其他澳洲首府城市貴一倍。 Newcastle位于悉尼東北168公里，人口50萬，為澳洲第六大城市，淳樸的民風、優(yōu)良的氣候、便宜的物價、美麗的海岸線、休閑的生活使Newcastle 曾被評為最佳城市。 臥龍崗位于悉尼西南83公里，人口30萬，為澳洲第九大城市。臥龍崗距離太平洋海邊僅15分鐘車程，優(yōu)美的海灘和刺激的水上活動吸引了不少的游客。冬天氣溫很少低于10度，夏天在26-30度之間，全年適宜游泳、劃艇和沖浪。臥龍崗也是澳洲有名的IT城。

1. ANU 學生總數(shù)14000人，留學生人數(shù)1500人。 Top Graduate starting salary and graduate outcome and top international reputation. 杰出課程：電腦。Only master by research, no master by coursework in Computer Science. Tuition: $13500*2 years 點評：這是一所由澳大利亞政府資助的以科研為主的大學。招生上也是以研究生為主，本科生較少。所以學生的總體規(guī)模不大，學術(shù)氣氛濃過校園生活氣氛。如果你是一名理論研究者，想獲得很高的學術(shù)成就，來這里無疑是對的。相反，你只是想學一門好找工作的專業(yè)，以便學成留在澳洲，澳大利亞國立大學就不是你的首選了。一方面國立大學的課程與就業(yè)市場聯(lián)系并不密切，另外國立大學地處堪培拉，人口少，工作機會也不多。

2. UOW 臥龍崗大學1999年和2000年連續(xù)兩年獲得澳洲最佳年度大學獎，學生人數(shù)13000人，留學生人數(shù)2200人。Excellent Graduate Employment Record. 杰出課程：電腦、通訊 Starting Salary: 98年$33,000 Unemployment rate (including casual and part-time): 7.5% Tuition: $14,200*1 year 點評： 打算讀IT的朋友，你不妨來臥龍崗。因為這里是澳大利亞著名的IT城，許多有名的大公司都有總部設(shè)在這里。你將很容易獲得交流、學習、實踐和工作的機會，但是打工的機會少。如果你是想拿學位，這里非常適合，生活費便宜，房租35-80/周，伙食費20-30/周。筆者當年選擇臥龍崗，一是其當年兩獲最佳大學獎，二是其associated Universities有加拿大Top 5中的UBC, Macmaster 和Alberta, 有美國的加州大學(包括UC-Berkley和UCLA), Indiana U, University of IL, UNC等世界名校。留澳的大部分學子曾經(jīng)是留美的夢想者，對于上述大學早已是如雷貫耳。三是臥龍崗在留澳學生中是無人不知。 2000年臥龍崗研究生Starting Salary: $60,260. 3. 2. GU 學生人數(shù)：23,000 留學生人數(shù)：2,600 杰出課程：計算機 Tuition: $1300* 10 courses 點評：AU$13000壹年讀完MIT(澳洲學生也要1萬澳元)，便宜！而且首付$5474.00(含274醫(yī)療保險)，不到3萬人民幣。我有一個朋友已經(jīng)拿到澳洲移民簽證了，用了不到半年的時間。其實，要看自己怎么想了。如果想讀書為移民鋪路的，Griffith得確實個不錯的選擇。

Curtin 學生人數(shù)：24,000 留學生人數(shù)：6,100 杰出課程：電腦、工程 Tuition: Master of CS by thesis and by coursework: $11,200*2 years PhD of CS: $17,000*4 years 點評：相比西澳大學來說，該校的學費要便宜，關(guān)鍵是留學生可以預付得起。Curtin曾被Asiaweek評為澳洲第一、亞洲最好的理工大學之一。從它的留學生人數(shù)上看，它是多么的受留學生歡迎！ 悖 論 其實很多科技大學都是綜合大學，但是Asiaweek卻沒有將這些大學排列。他們的排列屬于科技類別，比如QUT，UTS，CURTIN大學就屬于科技類別的。 你所說的Wolongong是IT城，這個有商榷。其實IT大公司都在悉尼的北面，就是North Sydney，距離Opera House很近。你看這里報紙關(guān)于IT的招聘廣告就知道這里IT大公司在什么地方了，并不是所說的Wolongong小城鎮(zhèn)。 Melbourne大學的IT在澳大利亞是首屈一指的，應該是第一第二的。Melbourne IT屬于上市公司，以Melbourne大學為科技依托。 在悉尼讀書的確比其他地方大學好找工作，這是不爭的事實，即便別的地方大學聲譽好。因為這里就業(yè)機會多。
