A-Level的全稱是Advanced Level,它是英國的普通中等教育證書考試高級水平課程，通常被稱為英國的金牌教育方式（British Golden Education System）,英國學生一般在16歲或稍大一些開始學習這種課程，圓滿修完這種課程即可進入大學就讀。
