wait可以是動(dòng)詞，也可以是名詞。當(dāng)wait是動(dòng)詞時(shí)， 其一般為不及物動(dòng)詞，wait應(yīng)遵循動(dòng)詞的語法規(guī)則。不同時(shí)態(tài)用不同的形式。wait的第三人稱單數(shù)是 waits，現(xiàn)在分詞是waiting，過去式是waited，過去分詞是aited。wait是動(dòng)詞時(shí)，有以下三種含義：

3、wait的英文含義是“to be left to be dealt with at a later time because it is not urgent”，即“ 推遲，擱置”。例子：I've got some calls to make but they can waituntil tomorrow.我有幾個(gè)電話要打，不過可以等到明天再說。當(dāng)wait是名詞時(shí)，其通常用于歌曲中，意思是“an act of waiting or an amount of time waited”，即“等待，等待的時(shí)間”。例句如下：Alice had a long waitfor the bus.愛麗絲等公共汽車等了很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間。
