Summer is an excellent time to get ahea or catch up,take a year of chemistry or physics or a language,take one or more courses that will allow you to stuy abroa or at the Duke Marine Lab,or make progress towars completing your major,minor,or certificate program. In aition to regular course offerings,many epartments offer inepenent stuy an special projects courses. (Please note that only regular Duke egree stuents may register for inepenent stuy an special projects courses.)Start planning your summer now by reviewing thecourse listings,accessible through the link on the left. These are currently "projecte" courses since our final course listing will not be available until mi-February.Course synopses will begin appearing onDuke Hubas soon as the scheule of courses is uploae aroun the same time.Feel free to contact us at 919-684-5375,or summer@uke.eu,if you have questions.General Information about Course Levels?0 - 99– Avance Placement creit; House Courses; First-Year Seminars,First-Year Writing.?100 - 199-- Introuctory-level unergrauate courses; basic skills / activity courses.?200 - 399-- Unergrauate courses above introuctory level.?400 - 499-- Avance unergrauate,senior seminars,capstone courses,honors thesis courses.?500 - 699-- Grauate courses open to avance unergrauates.Maximum Course Loa. The maximum course loa for Trinity College stuents for one 6-week termof the summer session is two courses,one of which may be a laboratory science course.Stuents in Pratt School of Engineeringmust make an appointment with their Acaemic Dean in orer to iscuss taking more than one laboratory course in one 6-week session. In aition,a stuent may enroll in a physical eucation activity course for one-half course creit or an applie music course for one-quarter or one-half course creit,not to excee a total of 2.5 course creits in the 6-week term. A greater loa may be possible on rare occasions with the approval of the stuent's ean or the appropriate irector of grauate stuies. Visiting stuents must obtain approval for an overloa from the irector of the Summer Session.The maximum program for one 4-week termof the summer session is one course. In aition,a stuent may enroll in a physical eucation activity course or tutorial for one-half course creit or a music lesson for one-quarter course creit.Concurrent registration in a 4-week course an a 6-week course is not permitte uner normal circumstances.Minimum Enrollment Require. Some courses are offere subject to minimum enrollments. If a course must be cancele because of insufficient enrollment,this ecision is mae as early as possible in an attempt to avoi unue harship on stuents. Stuents alreay enrolle in a course to be cancele will be notifie immeiately. If at all possible,courses are offere as scheule.
