什么是圖書館學(xué)？

圖書館學(xué)（library science）是研究圖書館的發(fā)生發(fā)展、組織管理，以及圖書館工作規(guī)律的科學(xué)。

這是一個(gè)相對(duì)冷門的專業(yè)，它一方面與一些學(xué)科在研究對(duì)象和研究?jī)?nèi)容上交叉重復(fù)，在歷史淵源、現(xiàn)實(shí)狀況和未來發(fā)展中，都有著同族的關(guān)系；另一方面，圖書館學(xué)利用其他學(xué)科的理論和方法來解決自身的理論與實(shí)踐問題，相互之間存在著應(yīng)用的關(guān)系。

和圖書館學(xué)有同族關(guān)系的學(xué)科主要是檔案學(xué)、情報(bào)學(xué)、文獻(xiàn)學(xué)和目錄學(xué)、信息管理等。

主要課程：圖書館學(xué)基礎(chǔ)、圖書館管理、信息管理概論、信息用戶研究、文獻(xiàn)資源建設(shè)、文獻(xiàn)分類法、文獻(xiàn)編目、人文社會(huì)科學(xué)文獻(xiàn)檢索、科技文獻(xiàn)檢索、咨詢與決策等。

就業(yè)方向：大企事業(yè)單位、IT行業(yè)、新聞出版部門、大專院校、醫(yī)院及有關(guān)研究機(jī)構(gòu)、圖書館、檔案館、博物館就職，從事信息管理和開發(fā)工作。
