萊斯特大學位于英國賴斯特郡首府萊斯特市，倫敦以北160公里（乘火車前往倫敦約1個半小時），人口約90萬，學生占全城人口的十分之一。市中心有介紹古羅馬的博物館，整個城市被古羅馬城墻所環(huán)繞。萊斯特大學的主校區(qū)坐落于萊斯特城的維多利亞公園旁，鄰近維杰斯頓伊利莎白女皇一世書院（Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College），主校區(qū)距離市中心約一英里。2013年萊斯特大學向德蒙福特大學（De Montfort University）購買了位于萊斯特大學主校區(qū)附近的Brookfield校區(qū)，以利未來學校發(fā)展與擴充需要。
