在歲末年初之際，有幾所高校悄無聲息地改換了校長。這幾天國外一所高校校長的換屆同樣引起了不小的關(guān)注，這所學(xué)校就是世界頂尖學(xué)府 —哈佛大學(xué)。其實(shí)早在去年六月Drew Faust就已宣布即將離任，要將這根接力棒交付于下任校長手中。

這個(gè)新聞引起了廣泛關(guān)注，這，就是哈佛的魅力。哈佛，在美國人心中，是美國最古老的大學(xué)，圖書館藏書量最多的美國大學(xué)，學(xué)?；鹱畲蟮拇髮W(xué)；各項(xiàng)綜合競爭力最大的大學(xué)；也是一直引領(lǐng)前沿科技的大學(xué)…..

有人曾將大學(xué)校長比作大學(xué)的靈魂，對(duì)于這所學(xué)校的改革和發(fā)展，校長將起到?jīng)Q定性作用。作為哈佛校長，更是在全球教育界有 “一言九鼎”的話語權(quán)。自 1636年成立至今，從哈佛大學(xué)走出一批批杰出校友，引領(lǐng)著世界發(fā)展的方向。多年以來，哈佛穩(wěn)步保持在美國乃至全世界的領(lǐng)先排名，這可不是件容易的事兒，這和歷屆校長的努力是分不開的。

近日，哈佛官方宣布現(xiàn)任校長 Drew Faust將于今年7月離任，將接力棒交給新一任校長——Lawrence S. Bacow。接下來和 老師 一起來了解一下這位擁有三個(gè)哈佛博士學(xué)位的移民后裔新校長吧。

在教育領(lǐng)導(dǎo)上，Bacow確實(shí)是一個(gè)經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的人。他曾在麻省理工學(xué)院任教24年，最終被任命為該校名譽(yù)校長兼系主任。2001年，他又擔(dān)任塔夫茨大學(xué)校長長達(dá)10年。2011年，Bacow加入哈佛大學(xué)董事會(huì)，并擔(dān)任肯尼迪政府學(xué)院公共領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力中心的負(fù)責(zé)人。

現(xiàn)年 66歲的Bacow是密歇根州龐蒂亞克市（pontiac）土生土長的人。龐蒂亞克位于底特律市西北方向，是底特律汽車工業(yè)的一個(gè)中心。不過，龐蒂亞克的經(jīng)濟(jì)狀況并不好，貧困人口一直高居不下。
