Established in 1976, Marryatville High School is a Special Interest Music School with a significant Internatio nal Program, a Special Interest Tennis Program, an extensive Co-Curricular Program and a program for students with high intellectual potential. The school has achieved internatio nal accreditation through the Council of Internatio nally Accredited Schools (Australia) and has a strong focus on student achievement, engagement and well-being. Our teaching and support staff meet the highest professio nal standards in their commitment to the school and care for students. Marryatville High School offers a diverse curriculum in an educatio nal enviro nment which promotes academic excellence and supports all students in reaching their potential, with our outstanding results testament to this. Ninety percent of Year 12 students aspire to university study.

Nestled amo ngst gum trees lining the banks of First Creek, the school's unique physical enviro nment provides an atmosphere co nducive to learning as well as an on-campus site for enviro nmental education. Buildings range from the heritage listed Eden Park, and the traditio nal main building to the state-of-the art Music Suite. The Forge, a 338 seat Performing Arts Centre, was opened in 2005. Over 1130 local and 100 internatio nal students benefit from individualised attention provided by a dedicated faculty and support staff. These young men and women are challenged and encouraged to strive for excellence and to co ntribute positively to our global community.

Marryatville High School benefits from excellent community support with a number of industry partnerships and strong community alliances. Members of Governing Council work closely with staff and students to ensure that the school has a clear strategic focus on teaching and learning. The Student Representative Council ensures that student voice is an im portant compo nent of our decision-making. Graduates leave Marryatville High School with an understanding of the value of life-long learning and the attributes required to be respo nsible members of society.

Our Facilities

Our air-co nditioned campus facilities are located in a peaceful and stimulating 8 hectare enviro nment of red gum studded grounds and well maintained gardens. They include:

Located on a separate campus the heritage listed ‘Eden Park’ house and magnificent gardens provide a unique enviro nment for our Year 12 students.

The Special Interest Music Centre is located in the refurbished heritage listed ‘Stables’ (being the original stables of the ‘Eden Park’ property) and an extension built in 1994. The Music Centre is well equipped and visually stunning.

‘The Forge’, a 338 seat flexible performance and learning space built in 2005.

A Gymnasium provides a focus for Physical Education and our large Co-curricular sporting program.

Modern computing facilities exist in stand-alone rooms as well as laptops located throughout the school to provide flexibility and access to technology in classrooms.

Specialist facilities designed for Art, Home Eco nomics and Technical Studies.

Curriculum

Marryatville High School has a strong academic tradition in all learning areas and has an excellent percentage of students attaining University entrance results. Our extensive curriculum and co-curricular programs encourages all students to extend their skills and to be their best. It also challenges the best

students towards outstanding achievements including those who wish to make music or tennis their specialty.
