Mount Gambier High School is a school recognised for its innovation and all round excellence. The school motto "Nothing Without Effort" is characterised by our core values of Learning, Optimism and Enjoyment. The school caters for students in years 8 to 12.

A comprehensive curriculum across a range of learning areas is the feature of our year 8 to 10 curriculum and the school offers language studies in Japanese and Italian. In the senior years, students can choose from a broad curriculum designed to support a wide variety of career pathways. Four accredited specialist sports programmes, an automotive skills centre on site, access to a range of VET programmes, a specialist performing and creative arts centre, and sister schools in Italy, Japan, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom involving an internatio nal student exchange programme, encourage a diverse range of learning opportunities.

Enhancing resiliency, student engagement and inquiry ba sed learning are a feature of our curriculum and school culture. We believe relatio nships sit at the heart of learning and our commitment to this is evident in our School Code of Conduct. Participation in public speaking, debating, sporting and maths and science competitions provides our students with the opportunities to experience success in the wider community arena. The school's Blood Do nor programme was an initiative of the School Captains and provides an unique opportunity to experience success in the wider community arena.
