Mitchell High School is a 7-12 Co-educatio nal school in Blacktown, Sydney, which delivers great educatio nal outcomes through quality teaching delivered by enthusiastic and dedicated staff in a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Mitchell High School provides a pleasant, caring enviro nment where students are encouraged to follow a fine tradition of striving for excellence. The emphasis on tradition and excellence expects from students high perso nal standards in study, behaviour, perso nal appearance and respo nsible behaviours. These values are stro ngly supported by the school community.

The school has an excellent reputation in the local community and performs well in academic, sporting and cultural aspects of the curriculum. A wide curriculum offering is enhanced by a strong and flexible use of technology to support learning, special provisions for high achieving students and for those experiencing learning difficulties, English as a Second Language(ESL) and Transition Education programs. The Parents & Citizens Association and School Council are very supportive of the school.

This is we want our students to be and at Mitchell High we help students try to achieve this through explicit teaching of behaviours across various settings within the school. Whether it is in the classroom, the library, the playground or the hall students at Mitchell should strive to be REAL students and they are encouraged and rewarded to behave in the ways in which they have been taught.

REALies are a large part of the rewarding system. These are small purple awards that are given to students when commendable and appropriate behavioiurs are observed. These REALies can be collected and exchanged for a REAL certificate, which in turn are collected and exchanged for Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards throughout their schooling at MHS.
