美國社區(qū)大學(xué)是美國2年制學(xué)院，為畢業(yè)學(xué)生提供副學(xué)士學(xué)位。通常學(xué)生通過社區(qū)大學(xué)完成兩年的本科通識課程，再升入綜合性四年制大學(xué)完成后兩年的專業(yè)課程，最后拿到學(xué)士學(xué)位。

在很多人的眼里，社區(qū)大學(xué)是給那些所謂的差生讀的而且社區(qū)大學(xué)本身也是一些相對較差的學(xué)校，其實不然。社區(qū)大學(xué)現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)成為美國進(jìn)入高等學(xué)府的途徑，學(xué)生不僅能夠花更少的學(xué)費修到有用的學(xué)分，并且能夠通過在社區(qū)大學(xué)的學(xué)習(xí)提高自己的GPA。越來越多的美國學(xué)生也選擇了社區(qū)大學(xué)。有研究專門對從社區(qū)大學(xué)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)到四年制大學(xué)的學(xué)生進(jìn)行了監(jiān)測，研究表明這些學(xué)生甚至比一開始就在四年制大學(xué)的學(xué)生有著更好的成績和更高的畢業(yè)率。事實上，社區(qū)大學(xué)現(xiàn)在也是美國的主流教育，美國目前已有1000多所社區(qū)大學(xué)，主要集中在全美的居民區(qū)附近，已演變?yōu)槊绹叩冉逃闹匾M成部分，在方便社區(qū)居民就近入學(xué)、普及高等教育中的通識教育、減輕國民高等教育費用、保障公平教育權(quán)等方面，發(fā)揮重要作用。一個匹茲堡的美國學(xué)生，得到了弗吉尼亞理工大學(xué)的錄取，最后還是選擇了去社區(qū)大學(xué)。一個是離家近，一個是省錢。這個學(xué)生后來轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)去UIUC讀計算機(jī)。換句話說社區(qū)大學(xué)是學(xué)生們積攢知識與能力的熔爐，更是通往名校的跳板！

美國的社區(qū)大學(xué)是被中國教育部所認(rèn)可的，而且社區(qū)大學(xué)一般都是直接由本地州政府或者郡政府創(chuàng)立并出資的，所以無法野雞。

或許很多人不理解，為什么要選擇社區(qū)大學(xué)而不是四年制的大學(xué)？首先是學(xué)費，美國社區(qū)大學(xué)大約8000美金每年，而四年制大學(xué)大約2-3萬美金每年。其次是入學(xué)條件，美國社區(qū)大學(xué)不需要SAT，在沒有語言成績的情況也也可以雙錄取。而四年制大學(xué)一般要求高中平均分要在80分以上，托福也要求在79分以上，排名在前50的學(xué)校都要求SAT成績并且不提供雙錄取的機(jī)會。另一方面，社區(qū)大學(xué)是經(jīng)美國教育部認(rèn)證的正規(guī)大學(xué)，美國的教育制度規(guī)定名牌大學(xué)必須每年招收一部分社區(qū)大學(xué)轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)生，因此，社區(qū)大學(xué)的學(xué)生錄取名校的概率比高中畢業(yè)直申成功率大。如果你還在糾結(jié)無法進(jìn)入美國一流的高校，可以嘗試將社區(qū)大學(xué)作為你的名校跳板
