容易出現(xiàn)的幾個誤區(qū)給大家總結下。

1、塑造點要清晰

我們需要知道，當高校招生官在招生的時候，想的是：We are creating a class.翻譯成中文就是“選拔一支隊伍”，西方團隊里的每個成員一般要滿足兩個特點：

a.每個成員都有自己的特點，在團隊里的功能、位置都不一樣；

b.具有不可替代性。

滿足這兩點，你才能成為西方人心目一位理想的團隊成員。中國學生呈現(xiàn)出來的樣子是：分都很高，看上去挺完美的，要公益有公益，要考試分數(shù)有考試分數(shù)，但最大的問題就是沒有特點。

總結：你可以是怪物，但不能沒特點。

2、素材，當然沒有素材。一切都是困難

不管你熱愛什么，但是總該有自己的喜好，如果可以堅持住。

我們在給學生做文書服務時，總會思考這樣一個問題：你在你的這個特點上算不算是一號人物？

3、感想，想法。做個有思想的人。

新的Common Application更重視思想，明確以思想為核心，這樣的趨勢隨處可見。芝加哥大學以思想性文書出名，斯坦福、普林斯頓、哥倫比亞也是這樣，MIT從1篇變成4、5篇文書，UC從2篇變成4篇，文書比重加大，思想性增強。思想富足要在經(jīng)濟富足三代以上才能建立，所以在中國這個環(huán)境下長大的學生在回答這種問題時確有劣勢。

4、再有就是有一條主線，從想法，喜好，到實現(xiàn)，這樣更有故事性。

有個性、有素材、有思考，接下來的問題就是：你挖出來的這些東西都是過去的東西，但招生官要看未來的潛力。所以好文書就是美國人經(jīng)常講的：Connecting the ots.把過去、現(xiàn)在、未來的線串聯(lián)起來，這根線是最重要的
